Updated Mission Statement
chubbutnot4long (Chubby But not for Long) is a community for connecting BBW (Big Beautiful Women) and BHM (Big Handsome Men) as friends and maybe more. We are coming together to support each other in reaching our goals for Healthy Weight Loss.

This community was originally founded in reponse to the heavy amounts of communities suggesting either unhealthy solutions, or Communities that would prefer, regardless of whether they were healthy or not to stay large and buck the societal norms of beauty.

This is not a community intended for the people who want to lose ten pounds to fit into a cute/sexy/whatever outfit. If the shared tips and techniques here help you great. My intent is for those of us, like myself, who are obese (20% or greater over the normal weight for a person of their height and gender)

It is meant for us to network to share what works for the membership to the little victories. It's a place to rant about how the world treats us and in ranting remember why we want to do this. it is a place for helpful factual information.

Hopefully at some point we can get enough members who no longer need to lose, that we'll see all new faces and need to pass it on to another.

--breakfast will be just fruit.
--a pria energy bar as a snack so i wont come home exhausted and worn out.(which has percisely been my road block for weight loss)
--lunch will be fruit,
--i'll come home and have a protein shake.
**treadmill or pilates video**
--then, dinner(vegetables,rice,pasta,salad,tofu,etc.)

what do you guys think of this diet plan?
thanks for support ahead of time, im looking forward to looking hotttt by the time i transfer;-)

Hi all! Losing the weight is getting easier, as long as I can stay away from pizza and oreo cookies, but I still need more support.

I've been working hard on getting this all up and running, so I would appreciate it if you all could take a moment, check it out, and let me know what you think.

Thought this might be helpful to other people.
The Seven Keys to Weight Loss Freedom

When you use Dr. Phil's seven keys, you begin to: rid yourself of wrong thinking, heal yourself of emotions standing in the way of a healthy relationship with food, create a no-fail environment, shape your eating behavior into what you need for lifetime weight control, get real about nutritional choices that worked to your detriment, change your priorities to include exercise, and plug into a circle of support for encouragement and accountability. In short, you are changing how you're living.

Key 1: Right Thinking
Lay aside self-defeating, invalid mindsets that do not work. They have the power to keep you from making different choices or developing new behaviors. Too often, we let these negative notions go unchallenged, and we act as though they were true. You must monitor what you're thinking and challenge whether it is true. If it's not working, replace it with thinking that works.

Key 2: Healing Feelings
Overcome emotional overeating by managing inappropriate reactions to stress; solving problems rather than dwelling on them; changing self-defeating thoughts, since more often than not, feelings follow thoughts; gaining closure on unfinished emotional business; and learning new ways to cope without resorting to food.

Key 3: A No-Fail Environment
Design your world so that you can't help but succeed. This involves removing temptations to eat and rearranging your schedule in order to avoid or minimize triggers to overeat.

Key 4: Mastery Over Food and Impulse Eating
There's only one reason why you haven't changed the bad stuff in your life. You're getting something out of it. I'm not saying that you're getting something healthy or positive, but people do not continue in situations, attitudes or actions that do not give them a payoff. This key helps you identify those payoffs, unplug from them, and replace bad habits with healthy behavior.

Key 5: High-Response Cost, High-Yield Nutrition
To lose weight, you must choose foods that support good behavioral control over your eating, that is, high-response cost, high-yield foods, organized into a moderate, balanced, calorie-controlled plan to ensure weight loss.

Key 6: Intentional Exercise
Prioritize regular exercise into your life most days of the week — walking, jogging, aerobic dance classes, yoga, playing a sport, or lifting weights. Exercise does more than simply burn calories; it changes your self-perception so you stop labeling yourself as a couch potato.

Key 7: Your Circle of Support
Surround yourself with supportive, like-minded people who want you to lose weight and succeed at your health and fitness efforts.

Is it weird that everytime I see one of the Fat Monica Friends episodes/clips I get a tiny burst of hope about my own weight loss? Or am I looking at this backwards in that, that's a skinny person being fatted up whereas I'm a fat person who could maybe become healthy (I know I cannot be skinny. I have a massive ribcage, and am prone to round features.)

chubbutnot4long(Chubby But not for Long) is a community for connecting BBW (Big Beautiful Women) and BHM (Big Handsome Men) as friends and maybe more.
It is my hope that we can support each other in reaching our goals of connecting with people and Loosing weight.
After experiencing in most of my adventures through LJ the "Chubby" comms being of the attitude that "Fat is Beautiful and anyone who looses weight is succumbing to media pressure. therefore you hate your body." This community was built for those plus sized people who while they are Loosing weight do not "Hate" their bodies. Meaning, If you're losing weight because you worry about heart disease, Diabetes or other medical maladies Welcome! If it's for cosmetic you are welcome as well but will probably not recieve the best support possible.
It is my hope that we can become a great community of supporters for healthy living.
